Marcus Lorenzo (Marcus Wells) was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He has a Bachelor's in Mass Communications from Bethune-Cookman University and a MFA in Filmmaking from The New York Film Academy (South Beach). "Soiled Roots" is Marcus' first short film where he won the Grand Jury Prize for "Best Web Short Film" at the 2016 South Florida Web Festival. Marcus has continued to create short films including his latest short "The Essentials of Quinn & John". He also won best director for an online web series, “Pride Called Worth”. Marcus continues to direct, edit and shoot content for Youtube comedians with over hundreds of thousands of views, as well as commercials and music videos.
